In which Swiss municipality do the top earners reside, where do the poor live and where do both cohabit? These questions are answered by the map I created for SRF Data. What makes it special: By superimposing the two pieces of information (red for the average income level and blue for its distribution), viewers are suddenly capable to identify regional patterns and relationships between the two dimensions. That was well received - the article was one of the most visited that year.

The technical term for the chosen form of representation is "bivariate" colour scale. Together with my team colleague Timo Grossenbacher I described in a blog post how we proceeded exactly with the creation. The corresponding Tweet has recorded 700 Likes and 200 Retweets since then.
